- The Itinerary of Day Trip to Imlil Valley and Berber Villages
Leave your hotel in Marrakech in an air-conditioned vehicle and head south in the High Atlas Mountains to Imlil, a Berber village which is the last leg of the hike at the foot of the mountain. Toubkal.
Follow the winding roads along the lush valleys and terraced fields and visit a women's cooperative for argan oil in the village of Tahnouat. Observe the workers who make argan products then go back to the village of Asni. If it's a Saturday, stop by the traditional Asni Berber Market before continuing up to Imlil to stop for a picture.
Upon arrival, have a tea or coffee and meet a local guide for a 2 to 3 hour hike. Stroll through Berber hamlets, walnut orchards and terraced fields; admire the waterfalls and spectacular views of the mountains; and talk about the Berber culture and places of interest of your guide.
Take a break for a traditional Berber lunch, then head to another Berber village where, if possible the same day, you will visit a private family home for refreshing mint tea or coffee with biscuits.
After leaving Imlil in the late afternoon, enjoy an optional camel ride on the Moulay Ibrahim River before ending your visit with a stop at your Marrakech hotel.
